We have uploaded some new pics from our gig at the Eesti Hip Hop Festival and the gig at SSU’s Festivalet.
And here’s a video someone filmed at the gig in Estonia.
Hello folks! We’ve been touring around Sweden a lot lately and haven’t been able to update the homepage too much, but here’s a big update with photos and stuff of what’s been going on.
The next album, that will be called “The TV OD LP”, has been in the making for a while now and will be released some time in the not-so-distant future. Those of you that have seen us live recently have already heard a couple of the new tracks, among others “TV Overdose” and “Swing Batter Batter Swing”, which we are both making music videos for. Here’s a couple of shots from behind the scenes:
And these are some pictures from gigs we’ve been doing lately, Peace & Love, Ljusdal, Arvikafestivalen, Nakkefestivalen and Krokstrandsfestivalen.
(the full galleries can be found in the photos section)
(5/8: Just added some really good-looking new photos to the Krokstrand-gallery taken by Niels Davidse, check’em out!)
Henry Bowers has for a long time done translations of songs by people like Woody Guthrie, Johnny Cash, Tom Waits and others. These songs have been performed live for a couple of years, and who knows, some day there will be studio recordings of them.
Here are a couple of video clips of some of the songs, recorded at Södermalms poetry-slam finals and the Swedish poetry-slam championship that were just recently. Henry is joined by Peter Lindholm playing the guitar in these perfomances, and is currently the one that Henry sings his translations with.
On the last of April (Valborg), we did a show for the good people that visited GH Nation’s champangegalopp. Here’s some evidence that the event actually took place and that we participated.
Yes! Henry Bowers is finally up on Spotify! So now you can listen to Henry with great ease wherever you go, maybe on your super-advanced mobile phone, share your Henry-playlist on facebook and all that nice stuff you can do with Spotify.
Check out this interview (in Swedish) with Henry at UNT’s (Uppsala nya tidning) music blog by Arig Idris + video.
Henry talks about occupational hazards for lyricists, swimming, Public Enemy, ketchup addiction and the upcoming new album TVOD LP that we are currently hard working at getting finished.
The 12th-15th of May, the National Swedish poetry-slam championship is going to be held at Reginateatern in Uppsala. Henry Bowers is both one of the persons arranging this event, and also one of the guest poets. On friday, the 14th, Henry is going to bring Peter Lindholm to sing a couple of songs and read some poetry.
The event is free of charge (though you need to get tickets to be sure to get a seat), except for the day of the finals, Saturday the 15th, when tickets will cost 50 kr.
A whole lot of poets from all over Sweden are going to compete in various different competitions, you can get all the info on poetryslam.se or check out the facebook-event.
We’ve put up a lot of pics from the birtday party we had for Henry’s 30th birthday. A real lot… You can see that we had a visit from Follow Him To the End of the Desert, Spakur and all our good friends! Go to “Photos” to see them all…
The one who took all the nice photos was Barbro Frohm, and they’re really nice!
You gotta check out our good friend Follow Him To The End Of The Desert’s new music video for the track “Jacksonian March”. In the video you can spot your favorite rappers Henry and Spakur, plus your favorite backup-rapper/fixit-man/street poet Saman Tha Fox!
